So what class crane best suites your particular manufacturing needs and environment? Review the following important criteria when selecting the right overhead crane: Speed – Measured in lifts per hour, this is how quickly the crane is able to move materials and equipment.

What Are the Different Types of Overhead Cranes?

At Mazzella, we design and build world-class overhead crane systems. We have over 50 years of experience in the overhead crane industry and can build custom solutions ranging from light-duty economical cranes to large-capacity, high-duty cycle cranes.

“Process crane” and “Modular cranes” are two terms used to describe the two different types of overhead cranes, grouped based on crane service, lifting capacity, and application environment.A process crane is designed for a specific need.

The following table is the common crane duty classification for overhead crane, Gantry Crane, Jib Crane and other Types of Cranes, etc. Overhead crane duty classification . For different types of overhead crane, the duty classification is also very different. In the following table, the main ducty classificaiton of overhead crane are presented

Electric overhead crane . TYPES OF ELECTRIC OVERHEAD CRANES. There are various types of overhead cranes with many being highly specialized, but the great majority of installations fall into one of four categories: Single Girder Cranes – The crane consists of a single bridge girder supported on two end trucks.

There are six (6) different classifications for overhead cranes, specified by the Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA).Overhead crane service classifications were established so that the manufacturer and end-user could design the most economical crane for the application, based mostly on the average rated load that the crane will lift, and how often the crane will be performing lifts.

OVERHEAD CRANE TYPES different types of overhead cranes

Overhead Crane Types: Overhead travelling cranes, designed for handling loads up to 120 tonnes, are the ideal solution for heavy lifting and wide spans. The overhead travelling crane range includes four series designed for different applications and operating conditions: single girder, double girder, underslung and single girder wall travelling
